Rixos – Bab Al Bahr – a 5 star Luxurious experience

Bound by its beauty, this property is beyond expectations in terms of its amenities

The trip started with a long drive, from Dubai to RAK. Driving past the hustle filled cities of Sharjah and Ajman, entering Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah showered the views of serenity filled long desert paths. A pleasant surprise was to meet the magnificent camels.

A short drive later, we finally made it to our destination; RIXOS BAB AL BAHR. The place looks exactly like the pictures, huge pyramid shaped buildings. The views were fascinating.

The valet took a while to get the car sorted but the hotel was super busy so no complains there. The check-in lobby was extravagant with a beautiful chandelier. Check-in took a while due to the amount of people but the staff was really sweet and helpful. They explained the whole process of how the all inclusive works.

The hotel accepts early check-ins but can produce the key card to their guests once the room is ready, until which you are free to use the hotel facilities!

So what does the “All inclusive” really include?

– the hotel stay with the selected room choice

– breakfast, lunch and dinner at their buffet restaurant (Seven Heights restaurant)

Breakfast with a view, Seven Heights Restaurant

– dinner at one of the 7 À la carte restaurants offering a variety to choose from. Steak house to seafood or the authentic Italian to somber Turkish; the hotel has a vast choice to choose from. (Make sure to reserve for dinner as soon as you check in as restaurants get busy really quick. The reservation can be done from any of the hotel phones with the provided room number)

Pizza Margherita, L’Olive restaurant

– a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at all of their restaurants and bars (additional charge for premium bevys but the ones available in the package are decent too)

Variety of drinks, Sea & See Bar

– a choice to dip in one of their 7 pools (or all of them as we did) located within multiple spots at the property. (P.S. they have an adults only infinity pool which overlooks the beach with brilliant views and charming vibe)

Enjoying fresh fruit by the poolside

– free entry to the steam, sauna and Turkish Hamam (additional charges for any services availed) which was a body rejuvenating time. Do take a dip in the pool located within the spa after the warm sessions in the sauna and hamam for ultimate relaxation!

The sunset is not the end of the day as the hotel beautifully lights up with exemplary views! The nothing lanes of the property in the mornings turn in to evening spectacles. The barren stage lights up with artists performing their hearts out while you sip on wine and have dinner at your respective restaurants.

The pools were rather empty and further appealing the next morning and the bars opened in the wee hours of a lazy Friday. It was a great opportunity to chitchat with them buddies and click some scenic pictures of you (and the property 😉 )

One with all the goofs!

The experience was fun, but a few services offered could have been better especially in terms of customer service. Their concierge and valet really need to step up their game as they take ages to serve you!

Their staff was generally courteous and the services offered very welcoming. (Except for their pool bars closing before mentioned time 🤦‍♂️)
